Nando’s, famous for its peri-peri chicken, has become a truly global name with over 1000 locations worldwide. 2022 was a special year for Nando’s UAE. Not only did it celebrate one of its best years ever in terms of performance, but it also completed 20 years in the Emirates. Delivery had been a part of Nando’s operations for over 10 years now, but as the pandemic rolled in, the brand had to change integral parts of its operations to continue to succeed.
To cater to customers' demand for its famous peri-peri chicken at home, Nando’s initially accepted home delivery orders via phone calls and direct orders on the website. This process worked fairly smoothly for the brand until they went live on online food delivery aggregators. As online orders via these platforms continued to grow, the brand noticed that there were severe delays arising due to the manual punching of aggregators' orders into their POS. For a global brand obsessed with providing a stellar customer experience, these delays were simply unacceptable and they realised they needed a cloud-based system to automate operations.
