Overview

Adyar Ananda Bhavan is one of the most prominent brands in South India that offers a myriad of options from sweets & savouries, to snacks and cuisine from across India. Started over decades ago in Chennai, the brand has blossomed and can be seen in locations all over the South of the country. The brand uses UrbanPiper for a variety of functions including the advantage of having a single dashboard to manage orders, update menu items, and much more.

Challenges

As business continued to grow for AAB, or A2B, as it is popularly known, especially after the onset of online ordering, operational challenges started to pile up. Some of the most pressing pain points included having multiple aggregator’s portals to manage orders on, having to update items within the menu such as images or prices, processing orders manually, & having to manually handle order status updates as well. A2B was also looking to solve for standalone sync, enable and disable options, common tax feature, and discounts and rate management.

Solution

With UrbanPiper’s HUB integration, Adyar Ananda Bhavan could focus on the bigger picture and not get bogged down by the daily nitty-gritties of the business. HUB offered A2B an automatic order flow with an inventory based process. The admin portal was easy to use and having one dashboard to manage multiple online channels and a centralised location to handle inventory & manage menus helped the brand focus on the metrics that mattered.

Additionally, with UrbanPiper’s Meraki, A2B built an independent online ordering system for itself. Customers could now order directly from A2B without having to transact through aggregator platforms and hence avoid inflated food rates due to aggregator commissions. With UrbanPiper, A2B received a consolidated online restaurant management solution that enabled them to scale across locations.
